Ad Banner - A graphic image on a web page that links to a location of the advertiser's web site. Ad banners are currently the most popular type of online advertisement.

Ad Product - A specific advertising opportunity on a web site. Examples of ad products are banners, transition ads, column ads, tickers and more.

Add URL - This is submitting action. You can submit web pages or web sites to search engines. That will put your URL in search results of search engines.

Ads Served - A returned ad, by the server, to a user each time requests a content page with an ad on it.

Advertisers - Companies or people with products, goods, or services to sell who pay other people to tell potential customers about their companies, products, and services.

Advertising Banners - Advertising content placed on an affilate's website with links to the advertiser's website. These can be either text or graphics.

Affilate - A website owner or publisher who earns commissions for referring customers to advertisers.

Affilate Program - A program designed by an advertiser to have other websites host advertising for a fee. The advertiser, or the agency, generally handle all the tracking and accounting. Also called Associate, Reseller, Referral, or Revenue Sharing programs.

Agency - A middleman between the advertiser and the affiliate. Traditionally agencies also provide the creative talent for advertising.

Animated GIF - An animation created by combining multiple GIF images in one file. The result is multiple images, displayed one after another, that give the appearance of movement. Research indicates that animated banners are more effective than static banners, generating higher ad awareness and recall, and click-through.

Associate - Same as Affilate. A website owner or publisher who earns commissions for referring customers to advertisers.

Associate Program - Same as Affilate Program. A program designed by an advertiser to have other websites host advertising for a fee. The advertiser, or the agency, generally handle all the tracking and accounting. Also called Affilate, Reseller, Referral, or Revenue Sharing programs.
